Lib Dem Elaine Morris is campaigning for a new crossing on Ferry Road by Boswall Drive

Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for the Forth Ward, Elaine Morris, has launched a petition calling for the Council to provide a road crossing at the junction of Ferry Road and Boswall Drive.

Elaine said,"In a recent letter from the Council I was told that although this location meets the criteria necessary for a junction it will be over 13 years before it is built.

"Given the numbers of people from Wardie and the Boswalls who cross Ferry Road to and from the bus stop this is clearly unacceptable. Schoolchildren who use the playing fields are also at risk.

"With an increase in the level of traffic along road, it would be tragic if an accident occurred before a crossing is built.

"I shall be contacting all users of the Stewarts Melville playing fields asking for their support in this campaign. I have already been approached by a local residents group who have offered to help.

"I appeal to all Boswall and Wardie residents to join with me in fighting for this crossing."
