Kevin Lang and his wife Jennifer registering the birth of baby Madeleine

Local Lib Dem parliamentary candidate, Kevin Lang and his wife Jennifer today registered one of Edinburgh North & Leith's newest residents - their new baby Madeleine.

The birth of Kevin and Jenni's new baby girl was registered at the Registrar on Ferry Road in Leith, one week after her arrival at the Simpson's Centre in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Kevin said, "Both Jennifer and I would like to thank everyone for all their kind gifts, cards and messages over the last few days. We are absolutely overjoyed to welcome Madeleine to the Lang family and are looking forward to sharing our lives with her.

"We would also want to praise the excellent team of midwifes and other staff, both at the Simpson Centre and at the local Pennywell Medical Centre. With this being our first child, their help and advice has been invaluable and has really shown the importance of the support they provide, both in hospital and in the community."
